Namaste North
PROJECT: BRAND, PRINT
When Namaste North approached us in 2017, the name was simply a vision that studio owner Meghan Heuhn had. She wanted to turn the dream into a reality and hired Flipside to bring it to life. After meeting with Meg, we knew we wanted to create a yoga brand that embodied her unmatched enthusiasm, strength, and charisma. She had big ideas and the brand needed to provide a solid foundation from which to grow and evolve. So we devised a brilliant and robust brand, rich in character and texture that would never get old.

This brand is rooted in the contrast between strength and flow. The push and pull, the light and dark, the strength and ease—all of which are pillars of a regular yoga practice. In the logo, this translated to mixing a bold, condensed sans serif with a loose and fluid script font. We also created a custom shortform submark that could be used to support the brand when the logo wasn't needed (think social posts and hang tags).
Namaste North isn’t just a yoga studio. It’s a community. And to help convey that, we created a colour palette that is warm and celebratory. It’s inspired by rich, delicious beverages (coffee, wine, and beer) that you’d want to share with your favourite people. Because Namaste North is cool like that.
The custom patterns we created for this brand are unique, bold, and tell a story of their own. One is made up of foliage and crystals, while the other is comprised of minimalist asana illustrations.
We were thrilled when Namaste North asked us to help them launch a line of tanks, tees, hoodies, leggings, and candles incorporating all the assets we created.
